Saru  b.2000 and Sabita b. 2002 are daughters of Durba and Tara. They are living on the outskirts of the small village of Etay where the School Alain sponsors is located. Their house is very modest with only a few square yards of garden. They have two goats and a few chicken but too poor to have a buffalo.

The mother Tara is epileptic and needs regular check ups and costly monthly injections to prevent violent fits. The family relies on her parents, who live a few yards away.

Unable to attend school, Saru and Sabita had managed to get a "second-hand" education from some of their young friends studying at the local school but this
was not good enough.

The Alain Rouveure Nepal Fund took over the private education of the two daughters.

For Saru and Sabita, the biggest gift was to be able to wear school uniforms like their friends and be part of the community.
