Hari

        ARNF - Hari Prasad Shrestha

Hari b.1996 is the son of Nara Bahadur and Nunu Kumari from Kavre district. They lived on a small holding with a cow, few chickens and a dog. When Hari was only eight years old, the Father died of an incurable disease. The young widow, unable to cope on her own, placed her child into an orphanage, where he grew up until aged 16. On passing his School Leaving Certificate (GCSCs), Hari was asked to leave the orphanage and fend for himself.

Hari was 18 years old and attending a not very great local government college when Alain met him. The boy was friendly, humble and very bright and deserved the chance of a better education to enable him to look after himself and his Mother.

The ARNF sponsors Hari in further education, studying advance Computer Animation at Maya Animation Academy, the Number One Academy in Nepal. His animation study time starts at 7am for two hours every day, with practice and home work afterwards. In October 2017, Hari got his first paid job for a company helping and teaching students online from 3pm until 10pm. Hari stays at Alain’s Kathmandu home and visits his mother regularly.

Hari is a success story, in as much as this incredibly talented young man has recently achieved personal goals that we could only dream of. Getting through his intense training at the Maya Academy with glowing colours (he was faster than his tutors), working in a design studio in Kathmandu, he was recently head-hunted and offered a marvelous full time position as IT designer for a company with international clients.

Hari also follows his dream and talent as a photographer.Together with two of the Institute's ex students, Hari has founded a Wedding photography and Video studio. The ARNF supported his new venture by providing a professional camera kit. The team will no doubt carry on being a run away success with affluent clients stopping at nothing to have the happy celebrations recorded for posterity.

The other and perhaps most touching update is that Hari is now able to support and look after his Mother still living in the village. Still residing at Alain's Kathmandu home, Hari is  a bright and most gentle light in all of our lives.
