Education is the best way to lift Communities out of Ignorance and Poverty.
In Nepal, all schools including government schools, expect the children to pay for their own
uniform, books, notebooks, and pencils.
In rural areas, where
most families struggle to survive, education is last on their list of priorities.
So far, the ARNF is caring for 19 vulnerable children, some abandoned by their parents, providing security, full Education and assisting with Health issues.
We are also mentoring 23 orphans from different parts of rural Nepal.
There is no National Health Service in Nepal.
Sickness in the family can have devasting financial consequences. Many will sell their land and home in order to pay for the medical bills.
There are now laws against Child Labour. However since the 2015 earthquakes, more children than ever are being sold, abondoned or trafficked.
Alain Rouveure is Health and Education Adviser to this school.
Set in rural Kavre District, two hours from Kathmandu, the school has the 3rd Best Grades for Education Excellence out of more than 400 schools in the district.
Many of the disadvantaged children we sponsor study there because the school provides hostel facilities in a healthy and secure environment.
